Portland-based, practicing online across Oregon.
Online therapy with a Portland-based LMFT. Eighteen years of experience working with adults and adolescents on anxiety, depression, trauma, mid-life transitions, grief, and the relational strain that travels with all of it.

Portland-based practice, online sessions. The same depth of work that an in-person office gives, with the schedule flexibility that telehealth allows.
Most of my clients live in Portland and the surrounding metro: Lake Oswego, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, West Linn, Tualatin, Wilsonville, Milwaukie. Online means we can also work together if you're in Eugene, Bend, Salem, Hood River, Corvallis, or anywhere else in Oregon.
Sessions are fifty minutes on a HIPAA-compliant video platform. You get a private link a few minutes before each session. Same weekly rhythm as in-person, without losing the hour to traffic on either side.
Portland clients tend to be analytical professionals from the tech orbit (Nike, Intel, the startup scene), people with science or medical backgrounds, and folks mid-career-and-still-figuring-it-out. Anxiety, depression, and trauma are the most common starting points. Mid-life transitions and grief come up almost as often.
Eighteen years, multi-modal, not woo.
Eighteen years of practice, multi-modal training, and an unusual route in. The engineering-to-therapy background shapes how I work in ways that matter for technically-minded clients.
I'm an LMFT trained at Antioch University Seattle, with a background in mechanical engineering before I changed careers. The engineering shows up in how I work: I think in systems, I'm comfortable with the body as part of the system, and I don't do woo. For clients with technical or medical backgrounds, that translation matters.
Multi-modal means I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic work, and an attachment-informed lens, and I match the approach to what you're bringing. For couples I work from Gottman and attachment frameworks.
I'm not interested in keeping you in therapy forever. The work is collaborative, oriented toward what actually changes things, and explicitly aimed at helping you keep doing it without me.
Questions I get asked about working with a Portland therapist.
Are sessions online or in person?
Online. I'm a Portland-based, online-only practice. That keeps the schedule flexible and the reach statewide. Most clients find that online sessions hold the work just as well as in-person; some find them more conducive because they're already in their own space.Do you take Portland-metro clients specifically?
Yes. Portland is where I'm based and where most of my clients live. The practice covers Portland proper plus Lake Oswego, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, West Linn, Tualatin, Wilsonville, and Milwaukie. Online means the city limit isn't the practice limit. Can I see you from elsewhere in Oregon?
Yes. I'm licensed in Oregon, so anyone in the state can be a client. I see people from Eugene, Bend, Salem, Hood River, Corvallis, and the smaller cities in between. Online sessions are the standard. What insurance plans do you take in Portland?
Most major Oregon carriers including Regence, PacificSource, Moda, Providence, Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare. I bill directly. The full carrier list lives on the insurance page. What if my issue isn't one of your specialties?
Reach out anyway. The eighteen years has covered a lot of ground. If something isn't a good fit, I'd say so and try to point you to a colleague who'd be better. The free 15-minute consult is partly for figuring that out.
